We have outstanding opportunities to teach at one of New Zealand’s most successful, caring and welcoming schools, located in the beautiful and historic Bay of Islands, New Zealand. 

We are looking to recruit enthusiastic, talented, and capable teachers, with opportunities in several curriculum areas. 

  • Mathematics Teacher, including Mathematics with Statistics, and Mathematics with Calculus 
  • English Teacher 
  • Science Teacher Biology/Chemistry/Physics
  • Hard Technologies Teacher 

We are a warm and caring coeducational, state secondary school of 1650 students, (Year 7 through to Year 13), including 80 fee paying International students, mainly from Europe and South America. At Kerikeri High School we believe strongly in achievement at its highest levels, and in students participating fully in all aspects of school life across the Four Cornerstones of a balanced education: Academic, Sporting, Cultural, and Leadership with Service.

Salary: NZ$61,329.00 - NZ$103,086 based on experience. Terms and conditions for Secondary Teachers’ employment in New Zealand, including remuneration scales, can be found in the Secondary Teachers’ Collective Contract 2022 – 2025: Secondary teachers' collective and individual employment agreements - Ministry of Education.

Individual’s actual base salary will be established by a salary assessment by Education Payroll once a role is confirmed.

Kerikeri High School is accredited by Immigration New Zealand to employ skilled migrant teachers. The New Zealand Government announced that “new to New Zealand Secondary School Teachers” will move to the ‘Straight to Residence Visa Pathway’, subject to conditions. For UK based candidates, the Principal will be holding interviews in person in the United Kingdom in August. Interview times will be available in evenings and weekends as well as during the day so that you can easily attend; locations for interviews will vary and can be confirmed upon application.
