Primary PSHE - Year 3 - Personal Safety and First Aid Lesson Bundle
This 3-week scheme of work is taken from the EC Publishing Primary PSHE scheme.
Our curriculum builds progressively, leading to this Year 3 unit on Personal Safety. In Year 1, pupils learned simple safety rules for home and school. In Year 2, this developed into recognising hazards in different environments, including the dangers of items like matches, candles, and cooking equipment, as well as how to stay safe at the seaside, when crossing the road, and playing outdoors.
In this Year 3 unit, pupils will build on that knowledge by learning how to recognise risks and hazards, understand the basics of fire safety, and know what to do in an emergency. They will also take part in their first First Aid lesson, learning how to respond to burns and scalds. These foundations will be built upon further in Year 4.
You can find the scheme of work here: Year 3 - Personal Safety and First Aid SOW
The unit includes the following lessons:
1. Personal Safety and Risk
2. Fire Safety
3. First Aid Lesson 1 - Burns and Scalds
