AQA A level Biology Topic 4. Protein synthesis (3.4.2)

This resource has been made for AQA A level biology but is suitable for all exam boards.

The presentation covers the following learning objectives and includes check point questions and exam questions to test knowledge. Questions included as Word doc. I’ve included some video links within the presentation that my students have found useful to watch as reinforcement.

  • Explain how pre-messenger RNA is produced from DNA in transcription.
  • Describe the role of the enzymes DNA helicase and RNA polymerase
  • Describe how pre-messenger RNA is modified to form messenger RNA through splicing.
  • Describe the role of ribosomes and tRNA molecules in polypeptide synthesis in translation.

Handout includes exam questions for independent work. All answers are included on the presentation.

I am updating all my resources for all 8 AQA A level Biology topics in my TES shop so please keep checking back.
