This lesson focusses on the question: Compare how poets present attitudes to power and identity in Checking Out Me History and in one other poem from ‘Power and Conflict.’ It features a pictionary (or blockbusters) based starter activity (which the students love!) to help them remember the quotations and also includes a planning grid, example answer and links to the mark scheme. This could stretch to a couple of lessons and is excellent for revision.
